I feel as if I’ve been saying Through the Silent Forest is coming… since forever, and it is. Slowly.
I had several people on social media reach out to me lately and ask when, and I wish I had an answer.
The answer to that… along with my book is, it’s coming soon.
My editor did surprise me by getting the first round of edits done fairly quickly. Then, I agonized over approving and denying changes. Approving editing changes took me over a week to do.
Not even that there was much to change, fix or edit. It was just me, going slowly, trying to make my book as perfect as possible. Finally, I just had to send it back, so I stopped messing with it. I think that’s a struggle every author has, is when to say that’s enough editing.
So now it’s back in professional hands for round two of edits. I’ve set up the cover to be worked on, so again here soon, when I get my second revision in, things will start to move more quickly.
There shouldn’t be a lot of errors found in this second revision, and after that, it’s back to the publisher for formatting and a final look through to make sure there are no errors that slipped through the cracks.
I did agree with my publisher to do a preorder for this book, so as soon as I know the release date, cover details, and the rest, you all will be the first to know.
Now that I’ve updated you on my book, I do have a few more book recommendations to keep you all busy. Along with my beta reading, I have been participating in the indie author TBR take-over challenge on Tiktok. It has introduced me to a wide variety of different types of indie authors.
I finished beta reading the second book in the Dangerous Alpha Series, titled Fractured Pack, and it was an incredible read. I mentioned her in my last post too, but again if you aren’t following Freya Amber, she’s an amazing indie author who’s writing this incredible slow build reverse harem. The first book in her series that I recommended last time, Bloody Escape, should be coming soon, so make sure to check it out.
Another book that I recently beta read that you should also watch out for is The High Mountain Court by A.K Mulford. This is another up-and-coming indie author to follow. Not sure when her release date is but this book was incredible, filled with witches and drama. This book had me shipping the main characters hard from the moment they met. It was a great story, the first one of a series I can’t wait to get my hands on.
Now onto the list of actual TBR take-over books. These you can find on Amazon or any major retailer.
Fail to Fight by Maci Dillon is a well-written second-chance romance. It does have some great steamy scenes, but for this one, I do recommend reading the reviews for it as they will include trigger warnings.
This next one is a really short read. It’s basically just a smut scene, but a fun one. Earth Cover Me by S.J Davis is a quick, raunchy story that you can read on Kindle unlimited.
Red’s Robin by Nicola Ormerod. This was another very steamy book, almost from start to finish. It’s a fun read. If you enjoy vampires and mates, this is a book that will keep you entertained.
For those of you on TikTok and social media, I highly recommend following Nicola. She does amazing evens and is always busy doing something on TikTok. She’s the one who organized the indie author TBR take-over challenge.
She’s going to host another one in November that I’m hoping to submit, The Gorgon and the Stranger, to be included in the list, and maybe, depending on its release, Through the Silent Forest too!
And last but not least, my absolute favorite book in this challenge so far is The Elite Wizard Games by Gina A. Watson.
Some people didn’t care for this book, and it’s not everyone’s type of read, but it’s action-packed and hooks you in right from the very beginning.
My favorite thing about this book is that it reminds me of one of my favorite anime and manga series of all time, and that’s Fairy Tail. So, for my fellow Fairy Tail fans out there, this book is for you with wizards, guilds, and adventure.
If you are interested, you can always follow me on my Goodreads page too to see my reviews for these books that are out. Happy reading! I’ll be in touch as soon as I have more news.
Thanks as always for following along!
